"Some men are born mediocre men, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them"
-Joseph Heller
Needless to say that Indian mentality has transformed its image from superiority to mediocrity.Being an Indian myself this must not incite that how someone can say about an Indian.By saying this it already hurts me while writing this but the fact is we never want to face the challenges and we all continue to live with the same old mediocre attitude 'chalta hai'.
Since a quiet long time i have been observing that people of our country which i am generalizing by taking into account of local population is that they are not at all interested
in doing their work. They do it as a forced responsibility. They do not perform their work as a duty but as a burden thrust upon them to earn money.Taking few live examples in to consideration, when we have some construction work going at our home and we call on labourers to do their subjected work, they often run away by giving meaningless excuse which not only causes delay in work but even makes that person irritated whose work has to be done.
Another famous example of our Indian people...Common Wealth Games. It was started around 2 years back but sill the infrastructure planned for the event has not been completed and its expected that the deadline set for it may have to be extended. This may certainly bring the image of India down.
According to me if this has to be removed from our system,we have to come up with a more precise policies which could force them to complete work in time and also to penalise them if delay in work is caused.
Lower section groups has to be given more incentives if they will to work hard and complete the work within the given deadline.
These are just few points which i thought was worth sharing. Many more are still there to be discussed which i think the people of this country should do altogether and not alone.
Thanks.
